  7. This is a demonstration of Zephyr with only the "Search" routines active.
  8. Zephyr is a cdev/INIT which installs additional functionality within
  9. Standard File's Dialogs.

  24. •a Macintosh with 128K or newer ROMs
  25. •System 6.0 or higher
  26. •1 MB of RAM  (recommended)

  30. Copy the Zephyr file into your system folder, then reboot your Macintosh.
  31. For proper execution, your system volume should be unlocked.
  32.

  35. Remove the Zephyr file from your system folder, then reboot.

  37. Usage:

  39. Minimal instructions follow.
  40. For complete information on shortcuts and special features,
  41. you must purchase Zephyr. You will receive a Hypercard stack
  42. detailing all of Zephyr's capabilities. In this demo,
  43. most functions have been disabled; in effect, changes cannot be made.

  45. Within a Standard File window, Zephyr allows you to:
  46.  
  47. •see information on the current volume
  48. •see information on the selected file or folder
  49. •search for files based on various criteria
  50. •create folders
  51. •delete files and folders
  52. •manages lists of files and folders, inc. single item insertion and deletion
  53. •quickly switch to a desired folder or list via a pulldown menu
  54.  
  55. Within Zephyr's cdev, you can:
  56.  
  57. •get info on the author, the program, requirements, and how to order
  58. •change dialog windows (including color items on color Macs)
  59. •change keyboard settings
  60. •set applications that have problems with Zephyr (hopefully few to none!)
  61.

  64. •Currently, don't use Zephyr with the public domain "SFScrollInit" INIT.
  65.  
  66. •To test out the search routines (the only thing the demo will do), you must
  67. first select or create a list and have at least one volume selected to search.
  68.  
  69. •Use the DELETE or CLEAR keys to remove a file or folder from a list.
  70.  
  71. •Within Standard File, holding down the command key and clicking on
  72. the current folder will pop down a menu list of all current lists (if any).
  73. Holding down the option key and clicking on the current folder will pop down
  74. a menu list of folders on the current volume in the current list which you
  75. can switch to (if any). This function, naturally, is disabled.

  77. •Within Standard File, you can hold down the option key and click on any
  78. of Zephyr's mini icons. From then on, when you open Standard File, that icon
  79. will automatically be activated. Option-click on the mini icon again to
  80. reset.

  82. •Standard Cut, Copy, and Paste functions are supported.
  83.  
  84. •Zephyr remembers settings for you: the current list, for example.
  85.  
  86. •If you experience problems with Zephyr, please report them.

  88. the configuration of the Macintosh used; any cdevs, INITs,
  89. or other misc. items in the system folder; the version of
  90. the System and Finder being used; etc.
